What is a Solicitor Advocate?

A Solicitor Advocate is a legal professional who is qualified as both a solicitor but due to the experience has been granted higher rights meaning that they can represent clients in the Crown Court as well as the Magistrates Court.

The role of a Solicitor Advocate was created to bridge the gap between solicitors and barristers, allowing solicitors to have the right to represent clients in higher courts. As a result, a Solicitor Advocate can handle a wider range of legal matters, including both pre-trial and trial stages of a case.
