When Grahame Stowe Bateson was first established in 1981 we opened our first branch in the heart of Leeds. But as our reputation grew, more and more clients began seeking our assistance.

We expanded our team by hiring additional solicitors to meet the growing demand, which led us to outgrow our office in Leeds City Centre. As a result, we opened a new office just outside of Leeds. Initially, this worked well; however, with an office in a more convenient location, our client base expanded even further. This led to the opening of a third office to guarantee that all our clients could easily get in touch with us.

In 2003, we had the opportunity to acquire Hirst & Capes, a long-standing law firm in Harrogate. Established in 1817, we are excited to have merged this prestigious firm with our own.

In 2024, we joined forces with the long established York-based criminal defence firm, Darwin McGrogan Tanikal (DMT) solicitors. The entire DMT team has come on board with us, and we are committed to providing high quality criminal defence representation. Additionally, we will now offer all our other legal services from our new office in York.
