Leeds Wills Solicitor helps raise record funds in Will Aid Campaign
June 23 2011
Grahame Stowe Bateson took part in the annual fundraising campaign Will Aid, which raised a record £1.5 million for charity.
In November Grahame Stowe Bateson Solicitors took part in the annual fundraising campaign, Will Aid. The campaign raised a record £1.5 million for the nine Will Aid charities which
help people in need in the UK and around the world.
GSB Solicitors Leeds, as well as other participating solicitors, donated their skills and time to write basic wills for clients without charging a fee. The clients were then invited to make a donation to Will Aid. The suggested minimum donation level is £85 for a basic single Will, £125 for basic mirror Wills and £40 for a codicil. Each year, thousands of people use the Will Aid scheme. They not only gain peace of mind by writing their Will, they help fund life-changing charity work at the same time.
Since 1988, Will Aid has enabled the legal profession to raise over £9 million for good causes. The Will Aid charities all work with the most vulnerable people in the UK and around the world, so that sum of money will have improved countless lives.
Leeds Law Firm Grahame Stowe Bateson has supported the campaign for the last 13 years and this year raised £4560 for the charities, making them the 5th highest fund raising firm in the North East and 44th in the country.
Senior Partner Grahame Stowe commented: "Making a will is a relatively simple process and can save a great deal of anguish, yet an incredible number of people have nothing in place.
"Will Aid is a terrific opportunity for members of the public to put their affairs in order. They gain peace of mind by writing their Will whilst helping fund life-changing charity work at the same time."
