In 1981 friends Grahame Stowe and Arthur Bateson opened their humble office in the centre of Leeds with nothing more than the suits on their backs, but with a distant vision of creating one of the leading solicitors in Yorkshire. Over 30 years later and with a team of over 75 staff across five branches, that goal has been realised.
As Grahame Stowe acknowledges that GSB’s longstanding success is largely attributed to the knowledge, ability, professionalism and attitude of it’s partners, solicitors and legal support staff. Most of the partners and many of the solicitors who work at GSB have given more than twenty years service. Retaining such skilled and experienced individuals has been the key to delivering consistently outstanding legal services to the Leeds community, which today means that a significant amount of our work comes from recommendation and referral.

Free Legal Services
Grahame Stowe was one of the first pioneers to offer a free legal advice clinic in Yorkshire. Started over ten years ago, over £2M in free legal advice has been given to individuals living in Leeds, Harrogate and surrounding areas. This was recognised in 2008 when MP Fabian Hamilton endorsed the efforts of the business.

Legal Support Staff
Our head office partners and solicitors are supported by a fantastic team of five legal administrators and personal assistants all of home play a key role in ensuring that our law firm functions efficiently. By taking care of the functional and operational activities within our Bramley office, our solicitors are then able to focus their time and effort supporting their clients.
Home & Hospital Visits
Whilst typically our clients will visit our free advice clinic or call into our office, we can arrange home and hospital visits for those who are not able to travel. We are situated directly opposite Leeds General Infirmary and only five minutes away from St James’s Hospital, so we are ideally positioned to cater for your needs.
Opening Hours
Our Leeds head office is open from 7am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Parking
We can provide free parking on the street adjacent to our office.
